Many of our projects include the preparation of masterplans and urban design studies, bridging the gap between the planning stages and the detailed design which produces the finished buildings.

Our design skills can be used to assess the potential for converting redundant buildings or to plan infill schemes in existing streets. In this context we have extensive experience in dealing with sensitive sites in conservation areas and changes in the use and appearance of listed buildings. On a larger scale we can produce masterplans for major projects on green-field sites or the redevelopment of existing urban areas.

The range of development types we deal with includes business parks, large scale retail schemes and major healthcare sites. Masterplans prepared for predominantly housing developments include those for the substantial expansion of existing settlements and the creation of new villages.

Visual material is an important part of the development process. It can be vital in clarifying the way in which proposals are sited and designed and how they fit into the particular location and context.
